DEVOTION ~ A SONG OR NOISE
Theme: A Song or Noise? Text: Amos 5:23&24 23 Take away from Me the noise of your songs, for I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments. 24 But let justice run down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream. In yesterday's devotion, we learned that our assemblies should be devoid of ungodliness. We ought to flee lukewarm behaviors and present ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable unto the Lord. Today, we will look at how our songs reach the Throne of Mercy dubbed "a song or noise? Songs are melodious and soothing to the Lord when it comes from the heart of a true worshipper. It flows harmoniously and does not disturb the hearer. However, when injustice, and unrighteousness clouds the believer, his/her song with its instruments make noise (empty without any spiritual significance or touch of the Holy Spirit) before the Lord.
