DEVOTION ~FAITH PERMITS AFFLICTION
Theme: Faith Permits Affliction Text: Hebrews 11:24-26 24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. In yesterday's devotion we learnt that Moses' parents hid him from the wicked schemes of Pharaoh (to kill the male children of the Israelites). Moses became the son of Pharaoh’s daughter by faith. However when he became of age, he refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. When faith drives you, you only move by its dictate. Faith gives you a divine identity that cannot be swapped or overturned by the wicked no matter how hard they try. Faith opens your eyes to divine hidden glory. (Exodus 2:11-15; 3:1-22) Faith makes the believer just like Moses to suffer affliction than enjoy the pleasures of this evil age. ...
