DEVOTION ~ CHAFF DRIVEN BY THE WIND
Theme: Chaff Driven by the Wind Text: Psalm 1:4 4 The ungodly are not so but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. In previous devotions, we talked about the righteous or the man who walks according to the precepts, instructions, and teachings of God listing the benefits of being faithful in the Lord. Today's text is about the ungodly. The ungodly is anyone who does not embrace the precepts, instructions, and teachings of God but rather finds pleasure in the counsel of the ungodly, walks with sinners, and takes a seat with the scornful. Such a man is described as chaff driven by the wind. That is to say, he is easily influenced or carried away by every doctrine or falsehood. He has no purpose for life and is spiritually worthless.
