DEVOTION ~ THE TESTIMONY ABOUT JESUS
Theme: The Testimony About Jesus Text: 1 John 5:6 6 This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness because the Spirit is truth. In the previous devotion, we learned that anyone who believes in Jesus is a child of God possesses a love for all, and is also an overcomer. The text for today gives an account of who Jesus is. It is written that every fact shall be sustained and confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses. In revealing who Jesus is, three testimonies are credited to His identity: water, blood, and the Spirit. The first testimony about Christ is revealed by water during His baptism at the Jordan when the Spirit of God came down like a dove and settled upon Him and the heaven was opened and a voice spoke saying "This is my Beloved child in whom I AM well pleased".
