Theme: The Epistle of Repentance Text: 2 Corinthians 7:8&9 8 For even if I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it. For I perceive that the same epistle made you sorry, though only for a while. 9 Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. The Apostle Paul is pleased his epistle to the Corinthians has led to godly repentance. As children of God, whenever we are rebuked or reprimanded, we ought to reflect on what we have done wrong and seek God's forgiveness. The emotional display of crocodile tears is not what is required of us that is why the Apostle Paul stated that he did not rejoice because his letter made them sorrowful but rather that it led to a change of heart and to win them to God.
