DEVOTION ~ THOUGH THE FIG TREE DOES NOT BUD
Theme: Though the Fig Tree Does not Bud Text: Habakkuk 3:17&18 17 Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls— 18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. This last verses of Habakkuk is concerned with his hymn of faith. The prophet's word is an enlightenment to all believers that faith is much and well exhibited in moments of nothingness. For that reason our theme for today's devotion is, "Though the fig tree does not bud". We all need to be encouraged not to give up on our faith for by it the men of old obtained a good report. We are encouraged by the hymn of faith not to give up in trusting the Lord. The Fig tree is a symbolism of our lives on this earth. Is your life blossom (do you have it all and lacks nothing)? Does it feel sometimes the labour of your hand...
