DEVOTION ~ OIL OF GLADNESS
Theme: Oil of Gladness Text: Hebrews 1:8&9 8 But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. 9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” The nature of Christ is countless for there's no limit to it. Yesterday, we studied that, Christ is the firstborn of the resurrection and God has exalted Him above the angels. Today, we will be looking at the anointing upon His life dubbed the oil of gladness. Oil has been a significant tool amongst the children of God before Christ, during His earthly stay and after His departure to heaven. Oil is used for anointing kings, it is a symbolism of greatness, favour, and divine blessings from God. Jesus is a part of the Triune God and He rules with the scepter of righteousness.
