EASTER DECLARATION ~ DISTRESS
Theme: Distress Text: John 19:28 28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” Today's devotion focuses on the fifth saying of Jesus on the cross which is taken from John 19 verse 28. The Lord's cry is a fulfillment of scripture in Psalm 69:21 " They also gave me gall for my food, a nd for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink" . Indeed, those who crucified Him offered vinegar instead of water to quench His thirst. On the cross, the Saviour has nailed our spiritual thirst and invites us who thirst to drink from His living fountain. He said to the Samaritan woman at the well “Whoever drinks of this water (natural water of the well) will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst.
