CHARACTER STUDY ~ RECAB AND BAANAH
Today's study shall focus on two brothers: Recab and Baanah. The name Recab means "rider, or charioteer" whereas his brother's name Baanah means "son of affliction or son of grief". Some Characteristics of Recab and Baanah: √ Recab and Baanah were from the tribe of Benjamin and are identified as the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite in the Bible. This throws light on their origin. Everyone has an ancestry and should learn to discover more about their family history. √ Recab and Baanah were among King Ishbosheth's raiding army, serving as captains. Ishbosheth was son of King Saul, who was made king after the death of his father. √ Recab and Baanah, on hearing of the death of the army commander Abner, perceived that the kingdom of Ishbosheth was in danger. To gain favour from King David, they killed Ishbosheth one afternoon in his room by stabbing and beheading him.
