Theme: Wrongful Service Text: John 16:1&2 16 “These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. 2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. It's much easier to travel on a route you're every conversant with irrespective of the time (whether day or night) but challenging if you do not have any idea of how the route is like. Jesus wanted to give His disciples a foreknowledge of what life without Him would be like to them. The essence is to help them not be made to stumble in His absence. The stumbling block is the persecution from the observers of Judaism. To such individuals, putting the disciples to death, flogging them, and doing all manner of evil against them is a service to God.
