CHARACTER STUDY ~ ELIZABETH
The name Elizabeth means my God has sworn. She was the daughter of Aaron, the wife of Zacharias and the mother of John the Baptist. She was devoted to the things of the Lord and was fast advanced age but had no child. However, the mercy of the Lord found her and she conceived a son in her old age. Some characteristics to learn from Elizabeth; * She was faithful to the Lord even while she was childless. We ought to be grateful to the Lord in all things and as well remain faithful even if things are not going well with us. * She secluded herself for five months from people when she realizes she was pregnant. We need to learn that not every stage of our lives needs to be broadcasted. * The Holy Spirit filled her and she proclaim great blessings upon the Blessed Virgin Mary. If we allow the Spirit of God to have His way in our lives, we shall be filled with blessings divine. * She was hospitable. She welcomed Mary into her home for three good months.
