Theme: Entering Into the Lord's Rest
Text: Psalm 95:6-11

6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. 7 For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice: 8 “Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, As in the day of trial in the wilderness,
9 When your fathers tested Me; They tried Me, though they saw My work. 10 For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.’ 11 So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”

The duty of man is to worship the Lord. The Psalmist calls forth others to join him in worshipping the Lord as we are the people of His pasture. Christ stated, He is the Good Shepherd and we are his flock. And it is only through Christ we can enter into the rest of God. He is the gate that ushers us in (John 10:1-11). There's always a connection between us and God so we can confidently also say,  He is our Shepherd we shall not want and declare positive things over our lives (Psalm 23).

As the sheep hears its master's voice and hearken to it, we are also to hearken to the Lord's voice (John 10:14-18). Our fathers of old were rebellious and could not enter into the Lord's rest. When the word of God comes to you either through hearing the sermon, having a quiet time, Bible discussion and other means, do not harden your hearts beloved in the Lord Jesus Christ. Whatever Word of God that reaches you, you need to welcome the Word and apply it in your life. Failure to listen to God can prevent you from entering into His rest. Entering into God's rest delivers us and make provisions for us when need arise (Hebrews 3:1-19; 4:1-16).
What attitude are you putting up in hearing God's word? How do you receive the Word? Beloved,  if your thought is clouded with doubt and fear, just speak to God to deliver you from them. Let us approach the Throne of Grace with confidence.

Prayer:  My faith looks up to Thee.Thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine! AMEN!
