Theme: Whose Word Are You Making Known?
Text:  Jeremiah 28:1-17

Memory Verse ~ Jeremiah 28:15-17
15 Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, “Hear now, Hananiah, the Lord has not sent you, but you make this people trust in a lie. 16 Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will cast you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, because you have taught rebellion against the Lord.’ ” 17 So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.

Praise God for another awesome day. Today we will look at prophecies of man and of God. In our dispensation where people are itchy to hear prophecies concerning their lives, most men of God have resorted into telling their mind than waiting on God to speak. The prophet Hananiah prophesied what will pleased the people than the Voice of God. Ask yourself if you're taking the steps of Hananiah or not. Taking the steps of Hananiah can manifest in convincing others beyond reasonable doubt that what you're saying comes directly from God, falsely speaking in tongues, predicting people's destiny through fortune telling, using evil spirits to heal or perform miracles, pronouncing doom over people's life amongst others.

You need to repent of all these lies and become penitent. The prophet Jeremiah did not argue with the false prophet to prove he is the true one but spoke well and ended   with thoughtful words in verses 8&9; 8 The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied against many countries and great kingdoms—of war and disaster and pestilence. 9 As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, the prophet will be known as one whom the Lord has truly sent”. This should have given Hananiah a change of mind but he did not. Do not harden your heart like Hananiah ask for forgiveness this moment.

Beloved, it's high time we understand we can't mock God. We need to serve God in all reverence. Let falsehood be far from you in offering services in the House of God. The Word of God that came concerning Hananiah through the prophet Jeremiah was, death. There's  no hope for the dead. Render your services in all truthfulness and you'll be blessed by God.

Prayer:  I pray the purity of God to fill me. May I not be led by my selfish thoughts but by Thy Spirit to make know Your way to all even now and forevermore in Jesus name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
