Theme: Arise oh God!
Text: Psalm 68:1-6;34-35
Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered; Let those also who hate Him flee before Him. 2 As smoke is driven away, So drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God. 3 But let the righteous be glad; Let them rejoice before God; Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly. 4 Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds, By His name Yah, And rejoice before Him. 5 A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation. 6 God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land
34 Ascribe strength to God; His excellence is over Israel, And His strength is in the clouds.
35 O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places. The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God!
The Lord is filled with power and strength. When He arises, His foes have no option than to flee. He is light and so exposes the wicked deeds of the wicked. As the wind drives smoke away so does the presence of God to the wicked. Once they are exposed they melt like wax because, shame becomes their portion. However, if your trust is in the Lord, joy shall be your portion.
The doings of the Lord beats human carnal understanding. This shows the awesomeness of our God. He is the Father of the fatherless, and a defender of widows. Beloved being an orphan or widow isn't limited to just loosing your biological parents or husband but being surrounded by circumstances that you have no one to fight your case. Are you currently battling with your health, is your marriage facing crisis, is your job being threaten, have you being framed up? Think of all the ugly that surrounds you and people look on unconcerned. Shout to the Lord and confess out aloud that, He is the Father of the fatherless, the defender of widows. Call on Him and you'll receive your deliverance whilst your enemies are put to shame. Our God is a liberator of those in bondage. Lift up prayer for your family, church, neighbors, nation and yourself that the Lord liberate you from every form of bondage. The Lord is more than able to deliver you.
Prayer: Blessed be Your name o God of all flesh. Mighty One in battle, arise and deliver me and all that is mine from every captivity. Arise oh God, and let the adversaries of our souls be scattered. We bless Your name for the victory given us even now and forevermore in Jesus name. AMEN!
