Theme: Divine Escape
Text: Psalm 124:1-8
1 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,” Let Israel now say—
2 “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, 3 Then they would have swallowed us alive, when their wrath was kindled against us; 4 Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul; 5 Then the swollen waters would have gone over our soul.”
6 Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as prey to their teeth.
7 Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. 8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Beloved in the Lord, imagine how your world would have been without the Hand of God. The Lord is always there in moment of distress, trouble, and even working behind the scene in our unseen battles. We ought to be grateful to the Lord.
Our adversary the devil and his agents are constantly roaring like lions seeking whom to devour. The little mistake you made would have ended your life yet the Blood of Jesus spoke on your behalf. The item you've touched which was not supposed to be touched would have landed you in a situation that you cannot pay for or save yourself. In all these, the mercies of the Lord came to your rescue. My brother/sister it is the grace of God that is seeing you through life. It is not luck, or your wisdom. What you survived, another couldn't. Have you pause for a while to ask yourself how you made it and who redeemed you? Or you're only quick to ask why me in the slightest discomfort. This isn't the time to lament. It is time to know that, the Lord has won the battle and you're victorious so you'll ascribe His praise to Him. Your soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken and divinely, you've escaped because Christ is risen.
Prayer: Thanks for Your deliverance my Lord and Savior. Keep me in Your divine hedge that no harm shall come near me in Jesus name. AMEN!
