Theme: Do You Know Jesus?
Text: 1 John 2:3-6

3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

It's funny somehow when people are quick to respond they are Christians when asked about their religion or faith. The question is, are you really a Christian and do you know Jesus? An answer to this question is well spelt out in the text for consideration for today.

Keeping the Lord's commandment is one of the sure ways to establish relationship with Him. In John 14:15, Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." You're only deceiving yourself if you continually engage in sinful practices and claim to love the Lord. The truth is not in you. The truth is made know by the power of the Holy Spirit our Helper whom Jesus has sent to us (John 14:16-31).

Reevaluate your life this evening and check whether you really know the Lord. You know the Lord perfectly only in loving Him, and nothing else. If you're a Christian, then imitate Christ not the world.

Prayer: Teach me Your will and ways my Saviour, that I may walk just us You've walked and show my love perfectly in Jesus name. AMEN!
