Theme: Don't Give in to Temptation
Text: Luke 4:9-13
9 Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. 10 For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you,’ 11 and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”
12 And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ” 13 Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.
Before the beginning of Jesus' ministry, the devil tempted Him in order to terminate the purpose for which Christ came.
Some temptation can manifest themselves as though they are good. Be mindful how you respond or give in to temptations. Jesus had knowledge of the Word and so rebutted the devil's schemes. You also need to emulate this by having time to study and meditate on the Word.
Prayer: Empower me oh Spirit of the Living God,so I may serve You truthfully I. Jesus name. AMEN!
