Theme: Self Destruction 

Text: Proverbs 29:1

He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

The Journey of life comes with some circumstances that often lead people astray. The best form to bring them on track is to rebuke them. A child of God that scoffs rebuke has not really learned to walk with the Lord. For the Lord chastens those that He loves (Proverbs 3:12; Hebrews 12:6-11). An open rebuke is far better than secret love (Proverbs 27:5-7).

Don't harden your heart when you're being rebuked. Do well to pounder over concerns raised when you're being rebuked and act wisely to avoid destruction. Especially in this moment of COVID 19, it is advisable to adhere to state officials decrees. If you do otherwise, you're putting yourself at risk as well as others around you. Just as the Father won't be pleased with arrogance, likewise state officials won't tolerate it at all. If you're asked to be indoor, remain indoor. If you're asked to move or not to move simply adhere to the directives. Remember, God has placed our leaders in position and you're required to submit to them (Romans 13:1).

The sudden destruction in the camp of Israel as a result of the sin of Achan could have been prevented if Achan had taken instruction in good faith (Joshua 7). In the 25th verse of Joshua 7, Joshua made a profound statement that ;

25 Joshua said, “I don’t know why you caused so much trouble for us, but now the Lord will bring trouble to you.” Then all the people threw stones at Achan and his family until they died. Then the people burned them. If you think of causing trouble, trouble will find you and the unpleasant shall accompany it. Imagine, this COVID 19 is a test to your faith on your level of obedience, what percentage will you rate yourself with?

Prayer: I've gone astray many a time thinking I'm right and can't be corrected. However, I've come to realize a stiff neck to rebukes will result in sudden destruction without remedy. God, help me to do what is right at all times in Jesus name. AMEN!
