DEVOTION ~ FAITH CONQUERS

Theme: Faith Conquers
Text: Hebrews 11:32-34

32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

From the beginning of time to now, men have been faced with spiritual and physical battles. Those who conquered did not do it by their strength but by faith. Our fathers of old; Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets defeated their adversaries by faith. (Judges 5; 6-8; 11; 13-16; 1 Samuel 17)

Through faith we can subdued kingdoms (the kingdoms could be a sphere in our lives i.e marrital struggles, academic challenges, sicknesses, financial indebtedness, etc). By faith, we can worked righteousness (this is the righteousness of Christ). Faith can also help us obtained the promises of God and as well enjoy the promise without fail through Christ Jesus by the enablement of the Holy Spirit. Just as Daniel prayed to stopped the mouths of lions, likewise can we also stopped the mouths of demonic utterances, spells, evil divination, wicked decrees amongst other evil orchestrations against our destinies. (2 Kings 7; 18:13-19:37; Romans 1:17; 4:3;11;16; John 3:16; Daniel 6)

Faith enables us to quenched the violence of fire as the three Hebrew boys who encountered God in the fire. Even though we will go through the fire, yet by faith, it shall not burn us or its flames scorch us. The fire could represent challenges in life that God will see us through. To escaped the edge of the sword, we need to employ faith as it empowers us in weaknesses. For out of weakness we will be made strong in faith prepared valiantly in battle in order to turn to flight the armies of the aliens pursuing any area of our lives. Faith conquers and knows no defeat. (Daniel 3; Isaiah 43:2; Psalm 144:1&2)

Prayer: Thank You Father, that by faith we can overcome and conquer the challenges in life. Strengthen our relationship with You by the power of the Holy Spirit that our faith will never grow cold. Let faith make the impossibles possible in our lives even now and forevermore in Jesus' name have we prayed. AMEN!
