DEVOTION ~ CHOSEN

Theme: Chosen 

Text: Psalm 135:4-6

4 For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His special treasure. 5 For I know that the Lord is great, and our Lord is above all God's. 6 Whatever the Lord pleases He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deep places.

From the beginning of time, God set out His rule for Israel that if they will indeed obey His voice and keep His covenant, then Israel shall be a special treasure to Him above all people; for all the earth is the Lord's. By the mercies of God, Christ gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify us for Himself as His own special people, who will be zealous for every good work in the Kingdom of God. We are therefore a great treasure haven been chosen as God's people. We must treasure what we have become in Christ and protect it dearly. (Exodus 19:5; Titus 2:14; Malachi 3:17)

God cannot be compared with anything for He is King above all things. What God is able to do, no one is able to do neither in the heavens nor the earth. As the  chosen of the Lord, He has made us partakers of the royal priesthood, the holy nation, to become His own special people, that would proclaim His praises for calling us out of darkness into His marvelous light. We are not of this earth but of the heavenly Kingdom which no one can question. It pleases God to make us His chosen one's through faith. The nature of God must always manifest in us in all we do. Let us therefore focus on this and all other things shall be added unto it for us. 

Prayer: O God of all ages, we are chosen because You have made it so even from the beginning of time. Our hands and voices are lifted to Your glorious praise for what You have done, are doing and will do in our lives. Thank You for the seal of our identity in Christ Jesus. In His name have we prayed with thanksgiving. AMEN!
