DEVOTION ~ NOT MY DOCTRINE
Theme: Not My Doctrine
Text: John 7:16-18
16 Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. 17 If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. 18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.
In yesterday's devotion we learnt that the audience of Jesus marveled at His teaching because He has never been to school. In today's devotion, He tells them the secret to His success. Do you hold on to some doctrines and traditions? What's the bases of these doctrines and traditions; is it in conformity with the standard of the Lord or that of human beings?
Jesus' doctrine is of God not of his own or the world's standard. So must every child of God embrace the will of God for it is in obedience to the will we learn more of His doctrine. This earthly doctrines seeks nothing but to exalt themselves as better than others or to make others feel inferior. However the doctrine of God is of truth and righteousness. Avail yourself for this glory of God to manifest in you for greater works.
Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus, lead me least I stray from Your will. Grant me the willingness to conform to Your will no matter how difficult it may seems. More of You and less of me in every sphere of my life and in all that I do. AMEN!
Amen!
