DEVOTION ~ WALK THE TALK

Theme: Walk the Talk
Text: 1 Timothy 6:3-5

3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, 5 useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

The gospel must be propagated to project Christ and nothing else. Any other intent in sharing the gospel is not of God. Whoever takes it upon himself to share the gospel with others must himself abide with the Word. To abide with the Word means to walk the talk of faith without fail so as to teach others to emulate same. Just as we saw in yesterday's devotion, we must learn to serve well as Christians.

Dear beloved in the Lord, do not become like those who preach to make a public show, make baseless arguments by misrepresentation of the Word and deceiving people, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions. Withdraw yourself from anyone with these attitudes for it will not help shape your Christian life. This is because, though they have knowledge of godliness, yet fail to subject themselves to it. Beware of such people so as you're not misled.

Prayer: Dear God, I pray the Holy Spirit helps me to overcome complacency in any area of my life. Grant me grace to walk the talk of faith in godliness. This I pray in Jesus' name. AMEN!
