DEVOTION ~ SEEK GOOD, LOVE GOOD!

Theme: Seek Good, Love Good! 
Text: Amos 5:14&15

14 Seek good and not evil, that you may live; So the Lord God of hosts will be with you, as you have spoken. 15 Hate evil, love good; Establish justice in the gate. It may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.


In yesterday's devotion, we looked at how the times are evil and what we as believers in the Lord ought to do is avoid unnecessary arguments and pray. In today's devotion, we will be looking at the choices we need to make as children of God. We need to seek good, and love good. The righteous seek good, resulting in life whereas the ungodly seek evil, that leads to destruction and death.

The Lord does not forsake the righteous in any way rather, He abides with the righteous. We must therefore, seek good, do good and desire or love good; living a just life and always striving to flee from evil company. The Lord's blessings is with anyone who does not association with the wicked, sinners nor the scornful but his/her delight is on the law of the Lord and meditates on it day and night. (Psalm 1)

Let us keep ourselves from unjust behaviors and pursue justice for our God, is a Just God. He rewards the just by liberating them from all forms of evil. Let us not be biased in our judgment or decisions pertaining to salvation (doing/abiding in evil whilst under grace), settling misunderstanding (do not side but ensure to let God's glory prevail), and in any decision in life. May the God of peace and the Rewarder of the righteous open His Hands and rain blessings over your life for choosing to seek good and to love good.


Prayer: God of love, Thou are Good and it is written, Christ was called the Good Teacher. We pray for the spirit that seeks and loves good to take total control over our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is written, You open Your hands to satisfy the desires of all creatures; Father in the name of Jesus Christ, open Your Hands and satisfy us with goodness in our marriages, finances, career, businesss, education, family, health, projects, conceptions (full term and safe delivery), in the lives of our children and in all that we do as well as every area of our lives. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
