DEVOTION ~ SEEK THE LORD
Theme: Seek the Lord
Text: Amos 5:4-7
4 For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: “Seek Me and live; 5 But do not seek Bethel, nor enter Gilgal, nor pass over to Beersheba; For Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing. 6 Seek the Lord and live, lest He break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, with no one to quench it in Bethel— 7 You who turn justice to wormwood, and lay righteousness to rest in the earth!”
As the Kingdom advances, we see the birth of congregations or denominations each day. Unfortunately many do not seek the Lord but rather the symbolic leaders (bishops, apostles, pastors, prophets) of their church. They put all their hopes and aspirations in these leaders believing their miracles come from them. God is calling unto us to seek Him now and not the gift of prophecy, healing and miracles He performs in His vessels here on earth.
The call not to enter Bethel, Gilgal and Beersheba is to draw our attention to the places of worship we think we find solace in our dispensation neglecting the True God. Salvation does not come from the denominational group we belong to but in Christ Jesus. These leaders and their denominations suffer schism that lead them to captivity (opposition and suffer attacks from within and without) and comes to nothing as the years advances. Most denominations that were hailed in the past have virtually lost their memory but the name of the Lord still is as it was in the beginning.
Seek the Lord and live dear beloved in the Lord. No one can stand the fury of God not even those we hail to be performers of signs and wonders. Let us be just in our ways that the righteousness of Christ will be evident in all that we do. Know Jesus, Know Life!
Prayer: O God of mercy, turn to us and look upon us again. For we are nothing without You. Forgive us for the moments we have switched Your glory to ourselves and leaders You've given to lead the churches. Strengthen us where we have fallen and grant us wisdom to do Your will all the days of our lives in the name of Jesus Christ have we prayed. AMEN!
Amen!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, He's the King of the universe and He offers us the chance to run to Him for salvation. May the grace help us to seek Him always in Jesus name, Amen!!
