DEVOTION ~ A BEAUTIFUL TASK

Theme: A Beautiful Task
Text:, Genesis 2:18-20

18 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.



One purpose of God creating is to ensure all things in nature have suitable companion. However, Adam was without a helpmate  making him to be alone. So God intended to give him a helpmate. Even before his wife was brought to him, he was given a task to perform - Name the animals and all other creatures.

It is during the task his challenge was detected. Dear beloved in the Lord, whatever you desire to possess or have in life, you need to work at it and seek God's face. Being idle and hoping for the best in life is just a dream or a mirage. Do not complain but keep to your tasks and the Good Lord will surprise you. Adam never complained to God, but God in His infinite wisdom knew what Adam needed. He has given us a promise that before we call, He will answer and show us great and mighty things. What's that beautiful task God has given you? The fact that you lack does not mean God hasn't made provision for you. There's a surprise awaiting you from God, keep working.


Prayer: Dear God, You know my needs even before I lay them before You. Grant me the courage not to be distracted by worries or be anxious about anything. Help me to hope in You even as I perform the duties You've assigned me. This I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
