DEVOTION ~ THE BODY OF CHRIST

Theme: The Body of Christ 
Text: 1 Corinthians 12:27&28

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. 28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.


Our devotion this week has been focused on the human body and its various parts. It is an illustration of the body of Christ with diverse gifts from the same Spirit. We are all part of the body of Christ and have been divinely appointed to function well in the uplifting and advancement of the Gospel to the world especially where there's darkness. This when done have positive replication on our lives and families. 

Dear beloved in the Lord, we have been called into one Vineyard but with diverse ministries. Identifying our ministries is key to functioning well. Just as a square hole cannot take a round peg, so will we not effectively and efficiently make use of our gifts if we don't identify them early. We will only burden ourselves trying hard to fit into a ministry we've not be called to. By the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can determine whether we've been called to serve as apostles, prophets, teachers, work miracles, heal, help, be administrators, or even speak in mystery (tongues).



Prayer: Father, we thank You for making us a part of the Body of Christ. We pray for grace and the ever presence of the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of our understanding that we may easily identify our ministry and serve well to the glory of Your Name in the name of Jesus Christ have we prayed. AMEN!

Apollos means "one who destroys or a destroyer". He was a New Testament figure who steadily grew to become a servant of Jesus through ministry. He was a staunch Jew.  Some Characteristics of Apollos: √ Apollos was endowed with great knowledge and was very outspoken. DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
