DEVOTION ~ DIVERSE GIFTS BUT SAME SPIRIT

Theme: Diverse Gifts but Same Spirit 
Text: 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:



In our walk with God, He blesses us with diverse gifts, ministry, and activities yet all these come from the Holy Spirit. Despite the blessings are different yet the same Spirit of God grants them to us. Just like the different parts of our body, that serves different purposes yet they belong to just one body, in the same way does God perform these spiritual gifts in us for the benefit of the body of Christ.

Dear beloved in the Lord, there is one body and one Spirit, just as we were called in one hope according to the grace in Christ Jesus. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them for God's glory. We were not offered the gifts for our selfish gain but for the benefit of all (the church and even those not of it). May God continually work in us in unity that the church will grow from glory to glory in the name of Jesus Christ. 


Prayer: Dear God, grant unto the church the essence of the diverse gifts, ministry and activities that we may effectively and efficiently use them for the advancement of Your Kingdom. Teach us by the Holy Spirit not to undermine any of the gifts but to work collaboratively for the benefit of all in the name of Jesus Christ have we asked. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
