DEVOTION ~ MAN IN EDEN

Theme: Man in Eden
Text: Genesis 2:15-17

15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

God has always strategically positioned us in life. He ensures before we enter into the next level, all things are rightfully placed so we can perform our tasks well. Adam didn't labour for Eden, his was to tend and keep it. Eden was sorrow free but comes with a command that must not be compromised.

Adam could freely eat of every tree in the garden expect the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It has a nice name but it's fruits leads to destruction. By eating the fruit, man must surely die. Dear beloved in the Lord, the position you occupy has great respect and can command the fulfillment of your desires but note that, if you misuse it for your cynical gain or to intimidate others, regrets shall come knocking at your door. That envelope may look good and convincing to own but ask yourself is it right to take that bribe? The lies may seem true to hearers but where will it lead you? Ask yourself what tree of the knowledge of good and evil (corruption, fornication, pilfering, gambling, cunning, etc) is in your life? If you desire to remain in Eden (your place of comfort and fulfillment) then heed to the command not to compromise your integrity.

Prayer: Dear God, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that You transform my life to Eden but grant me the grace to be obedient in all that I do to Your glory. AMEN!
