DEVOTION ~ NO SCHISM IN THE BODY

Theme: No Schism in the Body
Text: 1 Corinthians 12:24-26

24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, 25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

In yesterday's devotion we looked at coexisting where we mentioned that though we may all not have the same perspective to issues, we need to coexist in order to promote the well-being of the family and advance the Kingdom of God. In today's devotion we will at no schism in the body. Schism simply means a split or division.

Dear beloved in the Lord, schism comes about when we fail to cover up for others weaknesses. When you feel the praise must come to you and not the others, your way of doing things begin to contradict the others which births schism. The Apostle Paul admonitioned that God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it: we cover our unpresentable parts with modesty but our presentable parts have no need. Let us learn to complement each other in all we do for the progress of our families and the Kingdom of God. We should always have this mind, that what affects one, affects all then we will do away with schism and embrace oneness in Christ.

Prayer: Divine Triune God, there's no schism with You. Teach us to learn from You and cause us to look for the good in others than their weaknesses. In the name of Jesus Christ, we invite the Holy Spirit to bind us together in love even now and forevermore. AMEN!
