DEVOTION ~ THE WAY

Theme: The Way
Text: Acts 9:1&2

9 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

It's difficult most often to understand we are misleading others when we feel convinced within us that we are on the right path. So it was, Saul felt he is fighting for the Lord to do away with blasphemy in the synagogue and persecuted the apostles. To him, the people of the Way were not walking according to the will of God. However, they were rather followers of Jesus the Only Begotten Son of God. He sought official permission to deal with such individuals little did he know he was far from the truth.

Jesus Christ said He is the Way, Truth and Life. We can therefore not know the Way and Truth if the Holy Spirit is not with us. The carnal mind misleads and misjudges the carnally yoked man. Dear beloved in the Lord, whatever permission we have been granted to carry out a task, let us inquire of the Lord if it is profitable for the Kingdom's advancement.

PRAYER: Gracious Father, thank You for transforming me on the path of righteousness through Christ Jesus. Teach me by the power of the Holy Spirit to walk in the Way all the days of my life in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
