DEVOTION ~ LOOKING UP TO HEAVEN

 Theme: Looking up to Heaven

Text: Matthew 14:19

19 Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.

In yesterday's devotion, Christ asked the disciples to hand over the five loaves and two fish to Him. The text today gives an insight into what He did with the loaves and fish. When we hand over what we have to God He makes us lie in green pastures. Christ instructed the multitude to sit down on the grass. He ensured to put them in a comfortable position so they can enjoy the provision He has for them. Anxiety and worry are the tools employed by the evil one to distract our faith in God. Dear child of God, the Good Shepherd will always make you lie in green pastures so be anxious for nothing.

The lesson from what Christ did by looking up to heaven teaches us to seek God's approval and blessing in thanksgiving for every provision we receive. Irrespective of what we receive we need to commit it to the Lord and seek His blessing to make the gift profitable for the advancement of His Kingdom. If we learn to commit everything to God's Hands, we will be guided by His Holy Spirit and He will prosper us in all things. Commit your meal, clothing, shelter, career, finances, health, business, ministry, family, marriage, children, grades in education, and every field of life to God's care for He alone can establish you.

PRAYER: Thank You, Lord, for the provision of husband/wife, children, shelter, food, career, business, finance,... I commit them all to You and seek Your blessings upon them all. Make me a blessing to everyone that comes my way wherever I find myself that I may draw all souls to Your marvelous Light in the Name of Jesus Christ have I asked. AMEN!
