Theme: Eternal Life

Text: John 17:2&3

2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 


In yesterday's devotion, we learned that this chapter is Jesus' prayer for Himself, His disciples, and all believers. The text for today enlightens us on what eternal life means. Eternal life is knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. Therefore eternal life without the knowledge of God is a total scam. Dear beloved in the Lord, anyone who desires to have eternal life should first of all seek the things of the Kingdom of God. This will stir the zeal to know more about the true God and His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ. How zealous are you about knowing God? If you are a child of God who does not have any idea about the Sovereign God, the wind of deceit will sweep you away like chaff. Once you are misled, you cannot have eternal life because the Light of truth is not in you. Do you have eternal life?  


PRAYER: Almighty God, thank You for giving me insight into what eternal life is. I pray the Holy Spirit will teach me more about You and Jesus Christ. I avail myself of Your eternal Life in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
