EASTER DECLARATION ~ REUNION

Theme: Reunion

Text: Luke 23:46

46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last.

In yesterday's devotion, we learned the Saviour on the cross said tetelesai (it is finished). Today's text focuses on what Jesus said before He gave up His Spirit. This word is recorded in Luke 23 verse 46 which is often referred to as a word of reunion with the Father. Christ knew just who He must entrust His Spirit to and that is the Almighty God. Entrusting our spirits to God means a total surrender and embracing the perfect will of God for our lives. Whatever we surrender to God can never be snatched by the evil one. This explains why Christ did not remain in the grave but rather resurrected. We ought to begin and end every phase of our lives with God, Christ began and ended with the Father and His ending is glorious to behold. Let us strive to reunite with God physically and spiritually daily. A reunion with the Father breaks the barriers to us having a peaceful fulfilled life.

Let us Pray: Thank You Almighty God for the gift of Easter and for teaching us every step on the cross on forgiveness, salvation, relationship, abandonment, distress, triumph, and reunion. I commit my spirit to Your Hands and ask that I shall be transformed by the passion of Christ to bring glory and honor to Your Name. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
