Theme: Love & Righteousness

Text: 1 John 3:10

10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.  


Usually, we use ascents to determine where an individual is from. Amazingly in my part of the world specifically Ghana, it is easy to tell where a person hails from by their ascent either while speaking his native dialect or another dialect. It is a natural manifestation of our true identity so it is with our manifestation either as children of God or the devil.  In the previous devotion, we learned whoever yields to sin is of the devil and does not walk in the will of God. To be identified as a child of God, the love and righteousness of Christ must manifest in us. It is when His love manifests in us that men will know who we are. Love urges us to keep walking in righteousness and to strive to do the will of God. How well do you relate with your brother, sister, friend, or neighbors? If you have no love, then you are not of God. Love is what defines us as children of God and it is a divine mandate to love as Christ loves us. Love and righteousness co-exist you can manifest one without the other: You can't say you love and not seek the right to be done likewise, you cannot seek the right to be done if love does not stir you up.    


Let us Pray: Lord, thank You, for making me Your child. Help me to manifest Your nature of righteousness and love. I pray I shall desire to do good and to love as Christ loves me. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
