DEVOTION ~ AN EPISTLE TO SARDIS
Theme: An Epistle to Sardis
Text: Revelation 3:1a&b
3 “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, 'These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars'
In our devotion today, we will look at the fifth Epistle of Christ directed to the church in Sardis. We've learned that Jesus always gives an introductory message of who He is. In this Epistle, He introduced Himself as the One in possession of the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars. The number seven is believed to imply completeness in the spiritual perspective. Jesus uses this number to reiterate He is the entirety of the Spirit of God and the church. In Revelation 1:20 the seven stars represented the angels of the seven churches. This predisposes that every church has been assigned with an angel that is subject to Jesus Christ. The Epistle to the church in Sardis applies to our dispensation and we ought to welcome the message and act promptly on its directives.
Let us Pray: Almighty God, thank You for writing to us through our assigned angels. Help us by the leading of the Holy Spirit not to ignore Your warning through these angels. May we have this mind that all things are complete in You. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
