Theme: Guard Your Heart and Mind
Text: Revelation 2:20-23

20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. 22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. 23 I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.
  

Good and evil come from our hearts and minds therefore, we ought to guard them with the truth of God's work. If we are not mindful of what we permit into our hearts and minds, we shall be ruined. The church in Thyatira, permitted Jezebel, the prophetess of doom to teach and seduce the servants of God to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols which are all detestable in the eyes of God. God gave her the chance to repent but she did not. Likewise in our own lives, we have allowed circular teachings, content creation, and the like to pollute our hearts and minds. God is giving us a nudge through the Holy Spirit to repent but we have hardened our hearts because the temporary pleasure of sin is controlling us. No wonder there has been a significant increase in sexually transmitted diseases over the years. The idols of our dispensation have been modified which include but are not limited to phones, money, careers, material possessions, and anything that steals quality time with God in our lives. How well are you guarding your heart and mind? God searches the minds and hearts and He will give to each one of us according to our works therefore, let His Word take root in your heart and mind so that you can have a renewed mind and spirit in Christ Jesus. 


Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for walking according to the teaching of Jezebel by committing fornication, adultery, and idolatry. Please purge me with the precious Blood of Jesus so that I shall be clean. May Your Holy Spirit constantly have koinonia with me. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked.
