Text: Ecclesiastes 12:1-2

12 Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”:
2 While the sun and the light, The moon and the stars, Are not darkened, And the clouds do not return after the rain;

This text has been a common text which most people explain usually to mean serving God in our youthful days before we become too old and can't serve Him. However, we will look at it from diverse perspectives as believers striving to attain perfection ( Philippians 3:13-14).

The time in which we find ourselves in, is fully packed with activities that take most of our time. Some people are unable to schedule it wisely to make time for the things of the Lord. Our youthful times could be classified as; awaiting - admission to school, to be called for the job you've desired so much for, being a spinster or bachelor, healthy, on leave, alive, amongst others. It is the time you're less engaged. You need to plan well and make time for ministry when it comes to Evangelism, tidying up the chapel, visiting the sick/aged, etc.. (1 Corinthians 15 :58, Colossians 3:23-24).

When you fail to understand the need to serve God while less busy, it's much uneasier to do it when the difficulty days come. If you can fast six to six but give funny excuses, you won't be able to fast again when you're challenged with some medical conditions. The difficult or evil days could be the moment your responsibilities have increased. What have you channel your strength into doing? How well are you serving in the Lord’s Vineyard? A time is coming not necessarily when you're aged, that you will not be able to dutifully serve the Lord. The time is now, to give yourself away for the Lord to use you for His glory ( Psalm 119:10 & 1 Samuel 12:24).

Prayer:, Father in heaven, I surrender to You this day. Help me to serve You faithfully with all that You've entrusted in my life. AMEN!
