Theme: The Holy Spirit
Text: John 14:16-18
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
Christ Jesus assured us, He will not leave us as orphans for He will send to us a Helper. The Holy Spirit is often referred to as the Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby. He is our source of strength when we are weak. When situations seems impossible He's there to encourage us that it is possible. He rightfully gives us utterances in prayer. Is there anything the Holy Spirit cannot do for us?
The Holy Spirit is with us and He teaches us in all truth. We are led in leaving a life devoid of evil and wickedness towards our neighbours. The Spirit of God dwells in us, and so, we are distinguished from the people of the world.
The people of the world cannot see or know Him because, the understanding of their eyes have been veiled ( Ephesians 4:18). However, praise be to God we have been enlightened by the Word of Truth ( Ephesians 1:18). As you bear the name Christian, let your light shine before men that they may give glory to your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). Can you confidently proclaim Christ to others? If you can't, what is holding you back? If it's an open or secret sin, confess it to God and flee from it.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, lead me through the right path in life as You dwell in me in Jesus name. AMEN!
