Theme: The Faithful Shepherd
Text: 1 Peter 5:1-4

5 The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed:
2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; 4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away

The Good Shepherd is Jesus Christ, and he has called us to be faithful shepherds in His Kingdom (John 21:15-17).

Our calling is not to lord it over others but rather to serve. It should be done in all humility and willingness. Whatever role we play in the House of God, it should be to perfection. If the cleaning of the pews is what you can do, wipe it clean and arrange them orderly. If you've never devoted yourself to serving well as a shepherd, it isn't late to start now.

Prayer:  As I serve in Your presence, teach me to shepherd the flock in humility and willingness in Jesus name. AMEN!
