Theme: Firmly Rooted in Faith
Text: Daniel 3:8-18

Memory Verse ~Daniel 3:16-18

16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. 18 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”

Some people are quick to detect others errors than their very own. The Chaldeans' attitude towards the Hebrew boys could be seen in this perspective. They had no knowledge that their life is accountable to the Almighty God than the lifeless statue. Another thing about them is envy. When the spirit of envy possesses you, it only leads you into finding fault with people so you can occupy their place once they are shown the exit.

No matter what you're faced with be firm in your faith. The three Hebrew boys: Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (Daniel 1:11) knew the source of their life. They knew and have tasted the mighty work of God. Whatever happens to them only happens if the Lord wills or permits it. So they had a clear definition of what they stood for: God is able to save them. Even if God does not save them, it's still for the glory of God ( John 9:3). Once you understand every circumstance that comes your way happens  because the Lord wills it, nothing frightens you. Be firmly rooted in the Word of God so as to know the schemes of the devil (Jeremiah 29:11, 1 Thessalonians 5:18 & Hebrews 10:36).

Prayer:  we will base our prayer on Priscilla J. Owens hymn.

Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift or firm remain? We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love.
