Text:  Nehemiah 1:1-11

Memory verse ~ Nehemiah 1:4

4 So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

We've all been called to make disciples of all nations. How fervent are you with the things of the Lord? Most often, some people take things for granted even with the things of the Lord. Nehemiah on the other hand, expressed grieve for the destruction that befell his people (the nation of the Most High).

The first thing he did remarkably is to weep and mourn for many days with fasting and prayers. What attitude do you put up when things are not going well in the House of God? Do you join the blame game and complaining team? You need to step out of that zone and become a Nehemiah of our time.

Prayers and fasting is important in the Christian journey. The text in Matthew 17:21 should not be treated to mean for miraculous healings solely. Rather for every battle we are engaged in whether physical or spiritual. If prayer and fasting is not a part of you, start gradually and ask the Holy Spirit to empower you. Do not make it a habit to fast for your own selfish gain, but for others as well. Be an intercessor wherever you find yourself.

Prayer:  Father in heaven, I ask of Your grace to stand in the gap for my my family, friends, Church, community, nation, and even my human enemies in prayer  at all times in Jesus name. AMEN!
