Memory Verse ~ Daniel 3:21-23

21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, their turbans, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 22 Therefore, because the king’s command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

It's another awesome day and we are continuing with the story of the three Hebrew boys and the fiery furnace. The reply of these boys to Nebuchadnezzar of not bowing down to his idol (the golden statue) made him very furious that he instructed the fire be heated seven times more. These boys were bound by men of valour. It will be difficult to resist and their sight could even frighten anyone in such situation but these boys were not afraid neither did they resist being bound.

Having been bound and cast into a furnace heated than a normal temperature, it revealed the power in understanding what the Son of Man said in Matthew 16:24-28. Taking only the 24th and 25th verse that says; "24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."  Hallelujah! The men of valour who didn't even entered the fiery furnace, died. They lost their life in attempting to save it in obedience to an earthly king. Beloved in the Lord, what are you into that seems to shield you from hardship or death but it isn't in conformity to the will of God? Is It corruption, fornication, adultery, lies, or other sinful practices to save your relationship, job or life?

Amazingly,  these boys bound in cords fell into the fire and were not consumed. The saving grace of the Son of Man has been clearly see here. Their trust in the Lord saved them. Nebuchadnezzar was quick to ask his counselors how many people were cast into the fire. He as well confessed the presence of the Son of Man. Your life will see transformation if you rely on the Lord is all things.

Prayer:  Today's prayer will be based on the second stanza of Priscilla J.  Owens hymn,  will your anchor hold.

It is safely moored, ’twill the storm withstand,
For ’tis well secured by the Savior’s hand;
And the cables passed from His heart to mine,
Can defy the blast, through strength divine.

We have an anchor that keeps the soul.......... AMEN!
