Theme: The Perfect Sanctification
Text: Hebrews 10:11-18
Memory Verse ~ Hebrews 10:16-18
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” 17 then He adds,“Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.
When our fathers of old commit sin, they can only seek forgiveness by offering animal blood to wash their sins. This is often led by the high priest (Leviticus 4:1-6:7). But glory be to God, by the blood of Jesus Christ, our High Priest, we no longer need to offer sacrifices for our sins.
Sin is sin and irrespective of the gravity of your offense, Christ welcomes you to divine sanctification. When He returns, it will no longer be to save a lost generation but rather to take with Him the penitent. He will attain victory over His enemies (Hebrews 10:13, Acts 2:34-35). In 1 John 1:9, it has been stated, the Lord will forgive us if we confess our sins. Lay your sins before Him and He'll wash you clean.
A new covenant has been established in Christ Jesus and it is hope to all who believes in Him (John 3:16, Romans 10:11-13). When Christ said, in days to come, the true worshippers will worship in truth and in spirit, in John 4:21-24 it implies the communion with the Holy Spirit. The Law is in our heart and inscribed in our mind and so fear does not rule in us in the spread of the gospel. That power on the day of Pentecost still abides with us (Acts 2). Our sins has the Lord removed from us and He remembers them no more. Graciously, we need not to offer sacrifices to atone for our sins.
Prayer: Purity us o Lord with Your blood. Let your sanctity take seed in us and build us for the advancement of the Great Commission. AMEN!
