Text: James 5:13-18

Memory Verse ~ James 5:13-14

13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

To every circumstance in life, there's a remedy. The study of the Bible aids you to easily find solutions to your challenges.

One weapon to hold on to is prayer. In times of difficulties, prayer helps to lessen your pain. The Psalmists often give testimonies of the saving Hand of God in their moments of afflictions, distress, etc (Psalm 18:6; 118:5; 120:1). David when delivered from his adversaries also lifted up a song in 2 Samuel 22 to the praise of God. Is the seventh verse, he stated:
"7 In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry entered His ears."
Beloved, your cry will equally enter God's ears. Cry out to Him today.

Prayer can be done individually or corporately. In as much as the two ways are good, do well to establish more on praying in solitude. As Elijah did mightily praying all by himself, you can do same too.

The second weapon is singing. Lifting up praise to the Lord each moment of your life, brings healing and deliverance. The people of old praised God in both good and bad moments. Exodus 15:1-21 contains the songs of Moses and Miriam, David's prayer of praise in 1 Chronicles 29:10-20, Paul and Silas were set loose through hymns in Acts 16:25-26. Develop this habit of singing the Lord's praise and you'll have joy unspeakable always.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit  divine, touch my lips and tongue to open up in prayer and in singing the Father's praise. In Jesus name have I asked. AMEN!
