Theme: Be Christian, Apply Wisdom
Text:  Proverbs 10:10-12

10 He who winks with the eye causes trouble,
But a prating fool will fall.
11 The mouth of the righteous is a well of life,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
12 Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all sins.

Our journey in life needs to be guided with wisdom. Wisdom is divine, and it comes from God. The Word of God says in James 1:5, "5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

We will consider some key elements of life in our text for the day. Communication takes varying forms; verbal, written or gestures. If you fail to communicate the right thing to others, you'll cause trouble not only for yourself but others. Winking your eyes at the wrong time and place can be miscommunicated. To avoid troubles, kindly watch your body language. Just as you're careful of your gestures be mindful of your verbal communication. If you prate before elders, your colleagues, and even younger ones, you'll be seen as a fool. Your words will never be taken seriously. Watch what you say. Don't be a loose talker.

From the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34). The mouth of the righteous, is life. Yes, your tongue has the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21). Whatever you confess daily will locate you. Think positively and speak out positive words. Encourage others around you than discouraging them. Intercede for your family, church, friends, community, nation and the world at large. Once you develop this, you'll not speak ill words that will generate violence around you. Take note, your words can build you up or pull you down. If you think people are speaking ill of you, or others don't care about you, take a moment to reflect how you behave around them.

Show love, for you're a child of a God whose love is unconditional. Your love for others will cover up their weaknesses. A home of peace, is where everyone understands none is perfect, and need to cover up for each other. It builds homes and it makes it a healthy place to return to always. Being a Christian is not by words but by actions. Apply wisdom to your Christianity.

Prayer: Father in heaven, lead me by Your Spirit daily. Hold back idle talks from my lips and let Your Word overflow in every utterance I make even now and forevermore in Jesus name. AMEN!
