Theme: Renewal of Your Mind
Text: Romans 12 :1-2
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
As dear children in the Lord, we need to always exhort each other in the knowledge of the gospel. The knowledge of who we are help us to firmly hold on to the Lord's command.
Paul exhorts the church in his time which is equally relevant to our dispensation. To present your body as a living sacrifice calls for total surrender and holy living. It's an embodiment of service to God. It is just not a service but a reasonable service. The command in Leviticus 1:10 says, ‘If his offering is of the flocks—of the sheep or of the goats—as a burnt sacrifice, he shall bring a male without blemish.' My emphasis is on without blemish. In John 21:15-17, Peter's love according to Christ must manifest in his service to His flock. Our reasonable service is to serve in the purity of the Lord.
He was quick to add, we ought not to be conformed to this world. Conformity to the world takes diverse forms. Limiting our standards as Christians makes us conform to the world. Never compromise your faith for anything. You can do this best by having a daily devotion. The renewing of your mind is the work of the Holy Spirit. A daily fellowship with Him takes the toxins of life out of you. Once your mind is renewed in the Lord, a steadfast spirit rules in you. This permit the good in you to come alive and the will of God for your life to manifest as well. Your mind controls your life and whole system. Don't give the mind the chance to lead you to destruction rather be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Prayer: Uphold my thoughts to Your will Abba Father, and make me a useful vessel of Your Kingdom in Jesus name. AMEN!
