Theme: The Unknown Hour
Text: Mark 13:32-37
32 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”
The glorious Day of the Lord is not known to anyone. It is therefore necessary we all live each day fulfilling the will of God. Beloved, yes, there's a Glorious Day of the Lord, but have you also considered you're more likely to meet it earlier than expected? The sure way is when we fall asleep (die).
Having been forewarned that the day is unknown to anyone, so we must understand the days of our lives isn't known to us as well. You therefore ought to take heed and be on the guard for that day. As a child of God, prayer is essential in your everyday activity just like the way you drink water so as not to dehydrate. Be mindful when you think you're standing firm least you fall. Our God may either call us home or He will visit us. In either ways, there will be accountability. Will the Master meet you faithful or unfaithful? Answering this question demands we do what is right and pleasing to the Lord at all times. If you're sleeping in the faith, wake up. If your excuses are becoming more than you can imagine, please put a stop to it. Each passing moment brings a life to an end and the beginning of another. No matter how long you age on this earth like Methuselah, you'll surely come to the end of the road of life. The life after here should be your constant thought and live not for self but for the Lord.
Just as Jesus said it, what I have to tell you is watch out, for the hour is unknown to anyone.
Prayer: Father, I come before You today. I understand I've not been of the rightful nature as You expect me to be. Please uphold me in Your mercies and teach me to live every moment of my life as though it is my last. Strengthen me to remain faithful, watchful and prayerful until You come in Jesus name. AMEN!
