Theme: Live the Word
Text: James 1:21-25
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
The Word of God is life saving to the world. For this life is the light of men (John 1:4). The word of God illumine your path and guides you from falling prey to the adversaries schemes against your salvation (Psalm 119:9-11; 105).
When the Word of God comes to you, you need to depict the Word. The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) will be better fulfilled in your actions than just speaking it. Your good deeds will lead others to glorify God. That is why you must live worthy of the name you bear as a Christian (Matthew 5:16). The knowledge of the Word makes it to hold on fast in faith when the tides are high. You know who really you are and so you're able to stand the test of time. However, if you don't know what you're able to do, then the twenty third and twenty forth verses apply to you. Don't just hear or preach the Word. Live the Word and souls will be won even in the darkest of places. The peace of God abide with you.
Prayer: Holy Spirit divine, strengthen me to live the Word of God at all times. May I be an example of Christ to all in Jesus name. AMEN!
