Theme: The Deliverance of the Upright
Text: Psalm 143:9-12

9 Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies; In You I take shelter. 10 Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. 11 Revive me, O Lord, for Your name’s sake! For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble. 12 In Your mercy cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who afflict my soul; For I am Your servant.

Many have predetermined what to make out of this year though they have fears of being attacked by their adversaries. Beloved in the Lord, your safety is only secured in Christ Jesus. He will shelter you from your enemies. In trusting Him, you need to examine your lifestyle. Your year will get better if you know and understand the will of God for your life.

As you schedule prayers and fasting to commence the year and end well, you need to also seek the nature of God in you. The Holy Spirit is able to teach you if you have fellowship with Him. Just like the psalmist, call on God to fill you with His Spirit so as to live an upright life.

There's the need to also revive yourself through the study of the word of God. The study delivers you from troubles of this age. You can easily identify evil schemes when they advance towards you. And in the knowledge of the Word, you pray effectively to quench the evil schemes of your adversaries. The Blood of Jesus is your deliverance and you will not be consumed by evil.

Prayer: Deliver me from my fears o God, and make me live uprightly for Your glory in Jesus name. AMEN!
