Theme: How Desperate are You for God?
Text: Psalm 63:1-2

O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You. In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. 2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.

As you grow in your spiritual journey, there comes a time when all you will desire for is the presence of God. In joy, sorrows, fears and just name the circumstance, you will only condition yourself to draw near to God. At that moment, know it that, you've become desperate for God. Others may term it obsession towards God (your thought and will is obsessed by the truth of God).

This can only manifest in your life if you take time to reflect on your relationship with God. You need to develop a devotional habit so as to always stay connected to God. The psalmist says early he will seek the Lord. How early do you seek God? Do you try to fix God in your schedules or fix your schedules in God's plan for your life? If the former is your way of life, you can't desire the Lord at all. However, if the latter is true of you, then the desire will be stirred up in you naturally. Put God first in all things.

The spiritual thirst for God is a state of spiritual awakening. The spiritually dead do not yearn for God's presence. They've become carnal and in the devil's bondage. Just as naturally the human body becomes dehydrated in the absence of water, so he who is divinely connected to God feels dehydrated when far from God's presence. The psalmist modified it well in the forty second chapter that; "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God. My soul thirst for the Living God. When can I go and meet with Him? (Psalm 42:1-2)". In a crooked and perversed world as our own, it can be likened to a desolate or dry ground filled with evil and wickedness.

But where can you find God? In His sanctuary which is within you. His Spirit now resides in you. If only you'll permit Him to work in you, then you'll establish a lasting relationship with God. You will see His power and glory over all authorities in the heavens, earth, beneath the earth, and in the sea. Ask yourself, "How desperate are you for the Lord?"

Prayer: Lord give me a touch of divine awakening that I may be desperate for Your presence at all times in Jesus name. AMEN!
